Sketchup education licenses cannot be used for commercial (for-profit) work of any kind. Research and Facilities/Planning departments within educational institutions do not qualify. Institutions who would like to use SketchUp for any purpose other than teaching students do not qualify for educational pricing and would need to purchase the commercial licenses from Trimble. A SketchUp student subscription gives you use of SketchUp desktop, Sefaira, PreDesign, LayOut, Style.

Trimble SketchUp Studio for Universities licenses are available to accredited educational institutions for use in instructional settings only. Proof of educational status is required to purchase the license. Students can register their university email address to create an Autodesk account and download a 1-year license for AutoCAD, Revit, 3Ds Max, and many more related titles.

A SketchUp Studio 2023 Student License only costs R1,850.00 Incl VAT and are valid for one year from the date of purchase. Staff members are not elligible to obtain a free Sketchup Pro Teacher license as well as a Sketchup Pro Student license.
